Germany will cut taxes on petrol and diesel by around €0.17 per litre from 1 October until the end of the year. The measure will reduce energy tax by €0.14 per litre, with the total reduction reaching approximately €0.17 when lower VAT receipts are taken into account. The tax cuts are expected to cost €2.5 billion, with the funding shared between the federal government and Germany's states.
