Venezuela-US energy deal will last 25 years

Venezuelan interim President Delcy Rodriguez has said an energy agreement with the United States will remain in force for 25 years and aims to raise the country’s crude oil production to more than 1.5 million barrels per day (bpd). Speaking on state broadcaster VTV, Rodriguez described the agreement as a “historic” project involving the development of 17 strategic oilfields. She said the 1.5 million bpd target was an initial goal, with a broader plan also including eight greenfield oil blocks.
