Kaleidos microreactor to be tested in Idaho

Radiant's 1 MWe Kaleidos microreactor has begun its journey from California to the Idaho National Laboratory (INL), travelling more than 1,000 miles on a trailer. The company says the reactor has been designed to be moved by land, sea and air. Kaleidos was selected last year for testing at the DOME (Demonstration of Microreactor Experiments) test bed at INL, where a repurposed containment structure from a former experimental breeder reactor provides a safe environment for testing advanced reactor concepts and collecting performance data.
