Ukraine’s power grid is increasingly on the brink of collapse despite a surge in support and electricity imports from European Union countries, according to Euractiv. Years of relentless Russian bombing have left the country’s generation and transmission infrastructure fragile, forcing Kyiv to lean heavily on imported power in a bid to keep the system running through the harsh winter. Even with this increased cross-border assistance, experts warn that the grid’s deteriorated condition leaves Ukraine vulnerable to systemic failures if demand spikes or further damage occurs.
