Egypt signs new renewable energy deals

Egypt has signed renewable energy agreements worth a combined $1.8 billion as part of efforts to expand clean power generation, state television reported. The deals include contracts with Norwegian renewable energy developer Scatec and China’s Sungrow, covering large-scale solar power generation and energy storage projects. The government says the agreements support Egypt’s plan to increase the share of renewables in its electricity mix.
