EU and Indonesia reach a political agreement on CEPA

President von der Leyen of the European Commission and President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia have reached a political agreement on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), aiming for its finalization by September 2025. A key aspect of the agreement is the strengthening of supply chains for critical raw materials, which are essential for Europe’s clean technology and steel industries. Both leaders emphasized the importance of cooperation on critical raw materials to support their strategic interests and industrial competitiveness.
