SMR considered for construction in southern Sweden

The Swedish company Blykalla, which develops lead-cooled small modular reactors (SMRs), has signed a letter of intent with Hörby Municipality in Skåne County, southern Sweden, to explore the possibility of building a SEALER reactor in Stavröd. Over the next 18 months, they will conduct a feasibility study covering site suitability, soil analysis, infrastructure needs, and potential energy customers. Hörby will support planning and coordination.
