New systems for storing solar energy efficiently

The International Energy Agency (IEA) reports that about 50% of global energy consumption is for heating, yet solar energy use in this sector is relatively low compared to fossil fuel energy sources. One challenge is the intermittent availability of solar energy. Molecular solar energy storage systems offer a promising solution by storing solar energy in chemical bonds for weeks or months, unlike conventional methods that only store energy for short periods.
