Individual countries' renewable energy targets are not sufficient

A report from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) reveals that current government targets for renewable energy in individual countries will only achieve half the growth needed to meet the U.N. goal of tripling capacity by 2030, set at the COP28 conference. This goal, along with doubling energy efficiency, is crucial to limiting global warming to 1.5 degree Celsius.
