Russia still exports gas to Europe via Ukraine

About half of Russian natural gas still flows to Europe through Ukraine, while the other half flows through the Turkstream undersea pipeline under the Black Sea. The Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhhorod pipeline brings gas to Sudzha in the Kursk region near Ukraine, where the last measuring station for Russian gas to Western and Central Europe is still in operation. Approximately 14.65 billion cubic meters of gas were delivered via Sudzha in 2023. Ukraine stopped receiving gas through the Sokhranovka measuring station in May 2022.
