Doosan Škoda Power to modernise Loviisa turbines

The Finnish company Fortum has awarded a contract to Doosan Škoda Power to modernize the low-pressure turbines at the Loviisa nuclear power plant, which will increase its total installed capacity by 38 MWe and extend its lifetime. Loviisa, Finland's first nuclear power plant with two VVER-440 reactors, which covers more than 10% of the country's electricity consumption, can now operate until 2050 thanks to a license extension.
