Sweden plans construction of new nuclear power plants

The Swedish government has unveiled a roadmap for the construction of new nuclear power plants with an installed capacity equivalent to at least two large-scale reactors by 2035, with up to ten new large-scale reactors coming online by 2045. In October last year, Swedish government adopted the so called Tidö Agreement which changed the energy policy goal "from 100% renewable to 100% fossil-free". In the Tidö Agreement, it is assumed electricity demand will reach at least 300 TWh in 2045, double the current demand.
