Germany is interested in importing natural gas from Nigeria

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited Nigeria with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations with Africa's largest economy. Germany sees Nigeria as a key partner in Africa, politically and economically. Nigeria is Germany's second-largest trading partner in sub-Saharan Africa, with direct German investments in Nigeria amounting to €150 million in 2021.
