Bulgaria will charge huge transit fees on Russian gas

Representatives of Serbia and Hungary have reacted strongly to Bulgaria’s decision to introduce new, huge transit fees of €10.2 per MWh of Russian natural gas passing through the Bulgarian extension of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline to Western Europe. Bulgaria expects the new transit fees to generate additional revenues of €1.2 billion. Serbia, Hungary, North Macedonia and Austria receive all quantities of Russian gas through Bulgaria.
