Oil prices jump after clashes between Israel and Hamas

Oil prices surged more than 2% on Monday,  October 9th, as military clashes between Israel and Hamas ignited fears of a wider conflict in the Middle East. The surge in oil prices reversed the previous week's trend in which Brent fell about 11% and the U.S. WTI retreated more than 8% as a darkening macroeconomic outlook intensified concerns about global demand.
