Fully European fuel for VVER pressurised water reactors

The European Union is co-funding the Accelerated Program for Implementation of Secure VVER Fuel Supply (APIS project) with EUR10 million from its Euratom programme. The APIS project aim is to develop and deliver a "fully European" nuclear fuel for Russian-designed VVER pressurised water reactors. The project started in January and is expected to last three years.
