Macron calls for ‘regulatory break’ in introducing new EU green laws

The European Union has set itself the target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and more than halving greenhouse gas emissions before the end of this decade. To achieve this, the EU has already adopted several laws and directives and new targets on renewable energy sources. Other legislative texts are being discussed. At the same time, the EU is trying to deal with energy supply problems exacerbated by the COVID pandemic and the war in Ukraine.
