Polish-US nuclear cooperation expands to modular microreactors

Representatives of Polish company Grupa Azoty Police, Ultra Safe Nuclear Corporation (USNC) from the USA and the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin agreed on 29 March to develop and construct a research facility based on USNC's Micro-Modular Reactor (MMR) in a town called Police in northwestern Poland. The final purpose of the cooperation will be a full-scale use of nuclear energy to supply power for chemical processes and steam and hydrogen production at Grupa Azoty Police’s plant.
