Westinghouse and Polish PEJ sign agreement on AP1000 reactor construction

In November, the Polish government selected Westinghouse as the supplier of the country’s first nuclear power plant. In mid-December, Poland’s Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe signed a cooperation agreement with Westinghouse defining the main principles and path leading to the construction of a nuclear plant with AP1000 reactor. Westinghouse won the contract in competition with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) and France's EDF.
