German energy providers will have to justify future price hikes

The influential Bild newspaper recently reported the German government wants to ban all electricity and gas suppliers from increasing prices next year. In response, the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action denied the report and said that the government plans to allow energy providers to raise prices next year, if objectively justified.
