Dutch government to help cover energy bills of struggling consumers

The Dutch government has decided to allocate at least 150 million euros to prevent people being cut off by energy suppliers in the coming months if they can't pay their energy bills. A special fund will be set up for people who can demonstrate that it's impossible for them to pay their bills. The fund will be partly financed by energy suppliers. Prime Minister Mark Rutte has been repeatedly criticized by opposition parties for not offering options for people during the energy crisis.
