€65 billion relief package for German households approved

The German government has approved the third package of relief measures to ease pressure on households and businesses amid spiraling inflation and energy costs. The new plan with a budget of €65 billion includes financial assistance to households, continued cheaper public transport tickets and tax breaks for energy-intensive industries. According to the Federal Statistical Office, inflation in Germany rose to almost 8% in August.
