German public supports keeping reactors online

According to Germany's current nuclear-phase out policy, the country's three remaining reactors are scheduled for shutdown at the end of this year. A survey by ARD-DeutschlandTrend found that just 15% of those surveyed were in favour of the shutdown. 41 percent said they supported extending the operation of the units by a few months, while another 41% said the country should continue to use nuclear energy in the long term. In the ARD-DeutschlandTrend poll, 1313 people responded to the telephone and online survey, from August 1st to 3rd.
