Until recently, many Czech and Slovak households had considered natural gas an affordable, reliable and relatively eco-friendly energy source. Almost all gas consumed in the Czech Republic and Slovakia is imported from Russia which represents a serious challenge in the current geopolitical situation. The price of gas is rising dramatically and citizens of both countries are looking for alternative energy sources.
