France will construct new nuclear power plants

President Emmanuel Macron recently announced that France will build new nuclear power plants in order to maintain its energy security and to meet its climate change goals. Many French citizens are currently struggling with increasing petrol, gas and electricity prices. Macron said that to keep energy costs at a "reasonable" level and reduce dependence on imports, France must continue to save energy and invest in domestic carbon-free technologies. France will, therefore, for the first time in decades, relaunch the construction of nuclear reactors.
