Denmark approved Russian ships to build the Nord Stream 2 pipeline

The Danish Energy Agency has permitted Russian ships to take part in the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline construction. The pipeline is now on hold 160 kilometres off the German coast after the Swiss-Dutch company Allseas withdrew its ships in December. Allseas' deep sea pipe-laying ship Solitaire stopped operations when faced with massive US sanctions. Denmark’s decision will enable the pipeline to reach its destination in Lubmin on Germany's Baltic coast before the end of this year.
