Russia commissions the floating NPP Akademik Lomonosov

The floating nuclear power plant (FNPP) Akademik Lomonosov is at anchor in Pevek, in the Chukotka region of Russia's Far East. A regional branch of Russian regulator Rostechnadzor has issued a "statement of conformity", which verifies that the FNPP has been built in accordance with all project documentation requirements. The milestone was made public following the approval of Rosenergoatom General Director Andrey Petrov. Rosenergoatom is a subsidiary of the state corporation Rosatom. The project has also received approval from Rosprirodnadzor, an office controlling and supervising activities in the field of environmental management.
