Vattenfall will participate in Estonian study on SMRs

In January, Estonia's Fermi Energia signed a Memoranda of Understanding with the Finnish company Fortum and the Belgian firm Tractebel to cooperate on the study on the deployment of small modular reactors (SMRs) in Estonia. The Swedish utility Vattenfall has also decided to participate in the study. Among other things, the pilot study will investigate how far the development of SMR technology has progressed, cost conditions, licensing and if there is a future for this type of reactor in Estonia.
