IAEA assesses climate change effects on the energy sector

A new publication called Adapting the Energy Sector to Climate Change published by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) studies the "double challenge" the global energy sector will face in the next 20–30 years. As part of the climate change mitigation policy, the energy sector is to be fundamentally transformed into a low-carbon system. At the same time, the energy sector shall adapt to gradual climate change. The study also explores impacts of extreme weather events and the potential ways to counter them.
