Lipno hydropower plant celebrates 60 years

The Lipno hydropower plant has two machines – TG1 and TG2. TG1 has been in operation since 13 August 1959. In 2012 and 2017, the power plant was modernized. Thanks to an investment of more than CZK 400 million, the efficiency of both machines increased by four percent. As part of the modernization, the CEZ energy utility subcontracted the replacement of both turbines and resealed the pipes. The 230-tonne generator rotors were repaired as well.
