Europe probably does not need its own battery cell factories

Regarding e-car development, some European politicians and industry representatives have become concerned about excessive dependency on battery cell imports from overseas. France and Germany have even asked the European Commission to give provisional approval to subsidies intended for factories producing battery cells for European car manufacturers. However, according to the German analyst Marcel Weiss, this investment might not be worth it.
