Seventh Japanese nuclear reactor restarted after the Fukushima disaster

After the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster which occurred on 11 March 2011, new regulatory safety standards were specified for nuclear reactors in Japan. Subsequently, all Japanese nuclear reactors were shut down for safety evaluation. By March 2018, seven of Japan's 42 operable reactors have cleared inspections confirming they meet the new standards and resumed operation. The seventh was Genkai 3 in Saga prefecture.
