The USA and Poland oppose the undersea Nord Stream 2 pipeline from Russia to Germany

The proposed Nord Stream 2 from Vyborg in Russia to Lubmin in Germany would be a second pipeline bringing Russian gas to Western Europe via the Baltic Sea. According to the US and Poland, the import of gas from Russia undermines the energy security and stability of Europe as a whole, and gives Russia another opportunity to misuse energy as political tool.
