Saudi Arabia seriously considers the NEOM investment zone construction

Saudi Arabia has come with a number of projects aimed to reducing the kingdom's dependence on oil exports. One of them is the NEOM business and industrial zone.

The NEOM zone should cover the area of 26,500 square kilometres and focus on industries including energy and water, biotechnology, food, advanced manufacturing and entertainment.

The Saudi government as well as local and international investors are expected to put more than half a trillion dollars (420 milliard euros) into the NEOM zone in the coming years. Details of the project can be obtained on the NEOM’s web page  http://discoverneom.com.

The proposed King Salman Bridge, which will link Egypt and Saudi Arabia, is related to the NEOM zone project. Thanks to its strategic location, the NEOM zone could rapidly become a global hub that connects Asia, Europe and Africa.

The zone is to have its own tax and labour laws and an autonomous judicial system. The whole zone should be powered solely through renewable energy.
