World Solar Challenge car race begins in Australia

The 2017 World Solar Challenge car race began Sunday (8 October) in the northern Australian city of Darwin. 42 solar cars are participating in the race. The 3,000 kilometres long route through some of the driest regions on earth will take them up to a week.
