Tax incentives for insulation of German private homes

The German insulation industry has been calling for the introduction of building insulation subsidies for years. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has promised construction industry representatives to introduce tax incentives for the installation of insulation in residential properties.

The reform was backed by the Environment and Construction Minister Barbara Hendricks from the Social Democrats. The reform would likely come after September's federal election.
