Germany approves onshore wind farm expansion

German authorities have approved the installation of an additional 807 megawatts of onshore wind farm capacity. The projects were awarded at a price which was below expectations, probably due to stronger competition.

The projects were granted at an average price requiring a subsidy of 5.71 eurocents per kilowatt hour of power, marking a price reduction of 20 percent on previous agreements.
