Changing household energy consumption in the U.S.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has published the results of the 2015 Residential Energy Consumption Survey (RECS) which researched the differences and trends in energy use in more than 118 million single-family homes, apartments, and mobile homes in the USA.

The structure of entertainment and information devices varies by age of the particular household. Younger households on average usually have fewer TV sets per person and a higher concentration of portable devices like laptops and smart phones. Older people use television and desktop computers more often.
