Australia has ratified its greenhouse gas emission targets. Australia has become the hundred-and-fortieth country to ratify the agreement which was agreed upon at the UN climate conference in Paris in December 2015. In April 2016, the agreement was signed by 196 nations in New York. The countries have committed to limiting the global warming to 2 degrees Celsius and setting five-year targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
