The European Commission will probably not adopt toasters and hairdryers ecodesign rules

The European Commission will probably give up on the plan to force the manufacturers to produce more durable toasters and hairdryers with lower electricity consumption. A study on the increased efficiency of toasters, hairdryers and coffee machines was due to be published this year. Its publishing has, however, been delayed since January.
