Czech scientists have developed a new type of battery

Scientists from the New Technologies - Research Centre of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen and the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague have developed a prototype of a vanadium flow battery which could be used to store electricity from photovoltaic panels or wind farms. The batteries can be located in households or firms, and connected to the distribution network. The batteries can store plentiful solar energy during the day, and return it to the network in the evening.
