E.ON to pay a fine in Britain for failing to supply enough advanced meters

E.ON agreed to pay GBP 7 million as a fine because the company failed to supply part of its business customers through advanced electricity meters by the April 2014 deadline. British government’s goal is to modernise the energy sector.  Next generation of smarter meters will help customers control their usage and bills. The project is overseen by the UK energy regulator Ofgem.
